SAS Nagar, May 30, 2026:- Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Mrs. Komal Mittal informed that the Election Commission of India has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date in the State of Punjab.
She said that as per the communication received from the Election Commission of India dated May 29, 2026, the revised schedule has been approved to facilitate the smooth conduct of the revision process.
Under the revised programme, the draft publication of electoral rolls will now take place on August 3, 2026, instead of July 31, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections has been revised from August 3 to September 2, 2026, while the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections will be undertaken from August 3 to September 28, 2026.
