Sangrur:- Dr. Ravjot Grewal IPS, SSP Sangrur, while giving information to the press, informed that under the campaign launched against bad elements by District Police Sangrur, taking action, the gang committing incidents of thefts of mobile tower material in different districts of Punjab has been busted and 06 accused have been apprehended and from them 16 BTS cards, 01 cutter, 01 pliers, 01 screwdriver, 01 Swift car and one tempo used to carry away stolen material has been recovered.
Giving more information, Dr. Ravjot Grewal IPS, informed that under the supervision of Shri Manpreet Singh PPS, Captain of Police (Investigation) Sangrur and under the leadership of Shri Sukhdev Singh PPS, Deputy Captain of Police (Detective) Sangrur, the team of Inspector Sandeep Singh, Incharge CIA Bahadur Singh Wala got success when on date 23.08.2026 the team of CIA Bahadur Singh Wala was present at Cheema Road, Shahpur outskirts village Shahpur in the area of Police Station Cheema on patrolling and checking regarding suspicious persons, then during this time a special informer gave information that Lovepreet Singh alias Anda son of Kewal Singh resident of Model Town-1 Sheron and Harpreet Singh alias Kalu son of Najam Singh resident of Sheron, who are habitual of stealing material from mobile towers, are standing near office Market Committee at Anaj Mandi Cheema in white coloured Swift car number PB13BA1532 with stolen material from mobile towers for selling. On getting information, taking immediate action, Lovepreet Singh alias Anda son of Kewal Singh resident of Model Town-1 Sheron and Harpreet Singh alias Kalu son of Najam Singh resident of Sheron were arrested and from their possession 10 BTS cards, 01 cutter, 01 pliers, 01 screwdriver and 01 Swift car number PB13-BA-1532 were recovered. On which FIR No. 111 dated 23.08.2026 U/S 303(2), 317(2) BNS and 25 Telegraph Act 1885 was registered at Police Station Cheema and investigation was taken up.
During investigation on date 24.08.2026 on the basis of disclosure statement of accused Lovepreet Singh alias Anda under Section 23 BSA and during interrogation of Harpreet Singh alias Kalu, accused Salim son of Lukman resident of House No. 110 Mohalla Islamabad Board District Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh), Shajid son of Kallu resident of House No. 1787, Gali No. 02, Islam Nagar, District Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Farman son of Mohammad Irfan resident of Samar Garden Colony near Hari Masjid District Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Riazuddin son of Zarfuddin resident of House No. 227, Mohalla Peer, near Umar Masjid, District Muzaffarabad (Uttar Pradesh) were nominated and arrested and from them 06 BTS cards along with tempo number PB10-GY-4801 used for carrying stolen material were recovered.
Investigation is ongoing. By obtaining remand of the accused, in-depth interrogation is being done, there is possibility of more important revelations.
