Una, February 7- A district level meeting was held to discuss issues related to effective implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission and approval of domestic and community toilets including solid and liquid waste management. The meeting was chaired by Zila Parishad President Neelam Kumari.
In the meeting, the Zila Parishad President stressed on taking concrete steps to make Swachh Bharat Mission a success. She said that cleanliness is not just a campaign but a collective responsibility of the society, for which active cooperation of all stakeholders is necessary. Emphasizing on effective implementation of schemes operated under SBM-G, she directed to further strengthen the solid and liquid waste management system in the district.
She asked the officials to ensure that all the community toilets constructed in the district are properly maintained, so that people can get clean and better facilities. She informed that plastic waste sheds will be built in every Gram Panchayat with the funds of Swachh Bharat Mission and 15th Finance Commission. Also, plastic waste management units will be set up in Bhadrakali and Dhandhadi village panchayats at a cost of Rs 16 lakh each, which will make waste disposal effective.
CPO Sanjay Sankhyan, DPO ICDS Narendra Kumar, Deputy Director Agriculture Kulbhushan Dhiman, BDO Haroli Rajeshwar Bhatia, BDO Una KL Verma, BDO Amb Ompal Dogra, BDO Gagret Surendra Jetley, BDO Bangana Sushil Kumar and officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
