Una, July 30: MLA Vivek Sharma reviewed the progress of various ongoing development works and schemes in the panchayats of Una Development Block—part of the Kutlehar Assembly constituency—and directed that all projects be completed in a timely and quality-oriented manner. He was presiding over a review meeting held on Thursday at the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) conference hall in Una. The meeting involved a detailed review of ongoing construction works in panchayats, MGNREGA projects, development works under the 15th Finance Commission, and other public projects.
Addressing the meeting, MLA Vivek Sharma stated that development works would be carried out equitably across all panchayats of the Kutlehar Assembly constituency without any discrimination. He instructed the concerned officials to ensure that all tasks are completed with high quality within the stipulated timeframes so that the public can avail the benefits of the schemes on time.
He noted that the state government's objective is to strengthen basic amenities in rural areas and ensure that the benefits of development reach the last person in the queue. Keeping this goal in mind, work on the construction and renovation of roads, drinking water facilities, sanitation systems, drainage, community centers, playgrounds, parks, cremation grounds, and other public amenities in villages is being accelerated.
The MLA mentioned that priority is being given to the convenience of villagers by expediting the construction and repair of link roads. This has not only facilitated easier movement but also made it easier for farmers to transport their agricultural produce to the market. He directed that all pending MGNREGA works be completed by March 31, 2027. He highlighted that various activities—including the construction of rural paths, rainwater harvesting, land improvement, drainage systems, and public assets—are being undertaken under MGNREGA, thereby providing local employment opportunities to villagers.
Vivek Sharma stated that providing better amenities to the people is a shared responsibility of public representatives and the administration. He also issued instructions to complete all development works funded by the MLA's discretionary fund in a timely manner. He stated that the government is continuously working to provide housing to eligible individuals under the 'Sukh-Ashray Yojana' and to strengthen the economic condition of poor families.
Highlighting the measures taken by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during disaster management, he noted that affected families were provided with housing, financial assistance, and other essential amenities. He assured that there would be no shortage of funds for completing development works and that the government is fully committed to the effective implementation of all schemes.
During the meeting, a review was also conducted of the development works being carried out in Gram Panchayats under the 15th Finance Commission. Block Development Officer Rahul Dhiman presented detailed information regarding the development activities—broken down by Panchayat—through a PowerPoint presentation.
Kutlehar Congress Block President Vivek Minka, Zila Parishad member Sumit Sharma, SDM Una Abhishek Mittal, Pradhans and Up-Pradhans of the concerned Panchayats, and officials from various departments were present on the occasion.
