Garhshankar, May 11, 2026:- Development activities in village Moranwali of Garhshankar constituency received a further boost today under the leadership of Sardar Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, when he formally inaugurated a new road to be constructed in the village. On this occasion, the villagers and local residents gave a warm welcome to Deputy Speaker Rouri and highly praised his efforts toward the development of the village.
Addressing the gathering during the inauguration, Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri stated that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to the overall development of villages. He mentioned that funds are being continuously released for the development of roads, streets, drinking water, sewerage, playgrounds, and other basic amenities in villages so that people can enjoy city-like facilities within their own villages.
Deputy Speaker Rouri noted that this new road in Moranwali would prove to be very beneficial for the people. He explained that the construction of this road would make transportation easier and provide relief from several issues. He further added that the villagers used to face significant difficulties in commuting during the rainy season, and this long-standing demand of the people has been fulfilled on a priority basis.
He emphasized that he is working day and night for the development of every village in the Garhshankar constituency, and people's problems are being resolved as a priority. Deputy Speaker Rouri assured that no stone would be left unturned in development works and every village would be connected to the mainstream of development.
Deputy Speaker Rouri also mentioned that the Punjab Government is prioritizing public welfare policies, and work is being carried out on a large scale to strengthen education, health, electricity, water, and infrastructure. He stated that being a government of the common people, the welfare of every section is being ensured.
Present on the occasion were the village Panch, Sarpanch, Nambardar, prominent local figures, AAP leaders, and a large number of villagers. The villagers thanked Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, stating that the ongoing development works in the village are providing direct benefits to the people and transforming the face of the area.
