Banga/Nawanshahr- Keeping in view the Martyrs’ Day on 23 March of the great freedom fighters Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, who sacrificed their lives during the country’s freedom struggle, Deputy Commissioner Gulpreeet Singh Aulakh today visited Khatkar Kalan along with officials and reviewed the ongoing preparations.
According to Deputy Commissioner Gulpreeet Singh Aulakh, as Khatkar Kalan is the ancestral village of Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh and houses his family home, and also because a museum has been established in his memory where his statue and the memorial of his father Late Sardar Kishan Singh are located, a large number of people from across the country and abroad visit every year on 23 March to pay their ??????????? (tribute).
This year as well, on the occasion of the Martyrs’ Day of Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on 23 March, a large number of admirers of these great freedom fighters are expected to arrive. For this, the district administration is reviewing and ensuring the necessary arrangements.
He informed that orders have been issued for thorough cleanliness at the statue located outside the Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Museum and at the memorial of his father Sardar Kishan Singh, the rally ground situated at the back, the ancestral house located in the village, Mata Vidyawati Park, and other places associated with Shaheed-e-Azam and his family.
He further stated that apart from this, traffic arrangements, the road leading to the village, and the adjoining green belt have also been reviewed.
