Hoshiarpur, July 30:- On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr. Nidhi Kumud Bambah while reviewing the ongoing development works in the district directed the officials to extend the benefits of welfare schemes to every eligible beneficiary and to further expedite the development works.
While leading the monthly review meeting held with the heads of various departments at the District Administrative Complex, the functioning of those departments and the ongoing projects were reviewed in detail.
While reviewing road safety during the meeting, Dr. Bambah directed to identify accident-affected black spots and take necessary safety measures there, so that road accidents can be reduced. He also stressed on making people more aware about the Rahveer (Good Samaritan) and Ferishte Yojana.
The Transport Department informed the meeting that 44 road safety awareness camps were organized during the month of May and 40 during the month of June. Apart from this, 110 school vehicles were inspected under the Safe School Vehicle Policy, out of which challans were issued for 23 vehicles.
The Police Department informed that 6,015 traffic challans were issued under the enforcement drive in the month of May and 5,078 in the month of June.
After this, the ADC also reviewed other departments and schemes including GST, Excise Department, District Environment Committee, UEIP, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Solid and Liquid Waste Management, UIEP and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).
He said that the aim of the district administration is to ensure transparency, quality and timeliness in development works, for this all the departments should work in coordination with each other.
After this, Dr. Nidhi Kumud Bambah led the review meeting of the Health Department and reviewed the progress of various health programs and directed the officers to complete the set targets on time.
He said that awareness and other activities should be intensified to ensure maximum deliveries of pregnant women in government hospitals. Along with this, financial assistance to pregnant women belonging to BPL families at the time of delivery was also asked to be provided in a smooth manner.
ADC. While directing to ensure regular inspection of medical stores under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, said that strict action should be taken against the concerned persons if any irregularity is found.
