Hoshiarpur: While reviewing the ongoing Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme in the district, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain urged representatives of private hospitals to get their facilities empanelled under the scheme so that better medical treatment facilities could be made available to people across all areas of the district.
During a meeting with representatives from various hospitals at the local District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain stated that Hoshiarpur district ranks fourth in Punjab regarding the issuance of cards under the Chief Minister Health Insurance Scheme, with 3,25,023 cards generated so far. She noted that the scheme provides for cashless treatment of up to ?10 lakh at empanelled hospitals.
She mentioned that the district administration has facilitated card creation for the public by organizing special registration camps. Registration under the scheme can be done via CSCs or 'Aarogya Mitras' at any government or private hospital; an Aadhaar card and a Voter ID card are required for this process.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that currently, eight hospitals in the district are empanelled under the scheme—including Dhami Nursing Home, Narad Hospital, P.R.K.M. Modern Hospital, Jhanji Hospital, Swami Premanand Hospital, Pravesh Hospital, Maithan Apex Hospital, and Central Hospital—where beneficiaries can avail treatment worth up to ?10 lakh.
She appealed to private hospitals to get empanelled under the scheme so that people could access quality healthcare services close to their homes. She stated that private hospitals could apply for empanelment through the 'ump.pmjay.gov.in' portal.
The Deputy Commissioner added that a total of ?1.84 crore has been paid to various hospitals in the district under this scheme so far. He stated that it is a matter of pride for the district that Hoshiarpur has secured the fourth position in Punjab in the issuance of 'Mukhyamantri Swasthya Bima Yojana' cards. He assured representatives of private hospitals that the district administration would provide all possible support from time to time.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Nikas Kumar, IAS trainee Gurkanwal Singh, District Immunization Officer Dr. Seema Garg, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
