Surat:- Gas cylinders exploded due to fire in an embroidery factory building in Surat city of Gujarat on Thursday, due to which two people died and nine others were injured.
A fire brigade official said that the incident took place around 5.30 am, when two cylinders exploded after a fire broke out on the third floor of the building located near Rachna Circle in Bharatnagar in Kapodra area.
He said that a total of eight gas cylinders were kept in the building, out of which two exploded. The official said, "As soon as the incident was reported, fire engines from four fire stations were sent to the spot, which brought the fire under control. Before the fire engines reached, an LPG cylinder had burst, due to which the fire spread further." He said that the fire brigade personnel broke a sheet covering the third floor of the building and took out the people trapped inside and sent them to the hospital. The official said that a total of 11 people were evacuated. Nine of them were injured while two died.
