Una, February 1: Keeping in mind the convenience of farmers in Una district, the district administration has taken an important decision regarding the organization of the farmers' vegetable market in the Mehatpur-Basdehra area. Now, in addition to Mondays, the farmers' vegetable market will also be held on Fridays at the old location near the overhead tank in Basdehra.
This decision will facilitate farmers in selling their produce and will make the market system more organized.
Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Jatin Lal said that the interests of the farmers of Una district are the administration's top priority. To ensure that farmers do not face any inconvenience in marketing their produce, the arrangements related to the market are being continuously improved.
He informed that the farmers' vegetable market will be held every Monday and Friday from 2 PM to 8 PM. During the market hours, parking of any two-wheeler or four-wheeler vehicles will be completely prohibited at the concerned location to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The Deputy Commissioner said that a partial amendment has been made to the previously issued orders regarding the no-parking and no-vending zones in the Mehatpur-Basdehra area. Amended orders have been issued in this regard, exercising the powers conferred under Sections 115 and 117 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
The administration has appealed to farmers, vegetable vendors, and the general public to ensure compliance with the prescribed rules. Action will be taken as per the rules against those who violate the orders.
