Garhshankar:- Garhshankar remained completely closed today in protest against the lathi charge on sanitation workers in Barnala. Meanwhile, in support of sanitation workers in Garhshankar today, Congress, Youth Congress, All India Jatt Mahasabha, Brahmin Sabha Garhshankar and other organizations took out a protest march in Garhshankar city and raised loud slogans against the Punjab government and the DSP who resorted to lathicharge.
Former Congress MLA Luv Kumar Goldy said that by lathi-charging the sanitation workers, the Punjab government has proved that this government is anti-every class and is trying to suppress the voice of the people. Which we will not tolerate and will stand firmly with the sanitation workers. He said that today in Punjab every section is forced to struggle on the streets for their demands. But the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party used to say before forming the government that once the government is formed, then no one will have to protest. But today after coming to power, these people are getting every section of the society beaten by the police.
Meanwhile, General Secretary of All India Jatt Mahasabha Punjab, Incharge Aaj Singh Boparai, District Vice President of Congress Bindu Bhumbal, senior Congress leader Kulvinder Singh Bittu, President of Brahmin Sabha Garhshankar, contractor Kulbhushan Shori, Senior Vice President Pawan Sharma, former President of Youth Congress Assembly Constituency Garhshankar Mandeep Singh Moila, President of Youth Congress Assembly Constituency Garhshankar Jashandeep Singh Jashan, Block Garhshankar President Amrik Singh Ladi said that the Aam Aadmi Party government has resorted to hooliganism. There was lathicharge on sanitation workers and a DSP is hitting women directly on their heads.
He was merely suspended, whereas he should have been immediately dismissed and a case registered against him under criminal sections. But just by suspending it, it is clear that that DSP has the blessings of Chief Minister Hon. He said that we stand with the sanitation workers in every struggle. Today BJP is beating people at the Center and Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab has given free rein to the police to beat every section of the society.
After the protest march, everyone reached Municipal Council Garhshankar, where they discussed with the sanitation workers about intensifying the movement related to lathi charge in Barnala and their problems related to Municipal Council Garhshankar. After this he told the sanitation workers that we all are with you and whenever there is any struggle, we will go ahead of you and join that struggle.
