Una, December 29: In view of the New Year 2026, conditional permission has been granted for conducting sales in the local markets of Una district.  In addition, a special one-day exemption has been given to licensed establishments serving liquor, allowing them to operate until late at night on December 31st.
According to the orders issued by District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Una, Jatin Lal, the permission for conducting sales in local market areas will be effective from December 29, 2025, to January 1, 2026. The district administration has clarified that this permission is only for local shopkeepers, and no outsider will be allowed to set up stalls.
The orders, issued by the District Magistrate using the powers vested under Section 163 of the BNSS, state that during the sale, shopkeepers should display their goods in such a way that it does not cause any inconvenience to pedestrians and does not disrupt the normal flow of traffic in the market areas. In case of any violation, the permission will be immediately revoked, and action will be taken as per the rules.
In addition, the District Magistrate has granted a special one-day exemption to licensed liquor establishments in the district, including bars, clubs, pubs, and restaurants, allowing them to operate until 1 AM on December 31st. This exemption will be valid only for the night of December 31, 2025.
The orders also clarify that the previous system will be reinstated from January 1, 2026, under which all licensed establishments serving liquor will be required to close after 10 PM.
Jatin Lal has instructed all concerned departments, authorities, and license holders to ensure strict compliance with the orders. In case of violation, strict action will be taken under the relevant legal provisions.
