Zirakpur:- An illegal Tibetan market has been re-established on government (PACL) land in the Zirakpur area adjacent to Sethi Dhaba and Kohinoor Dhaba. This market is operating without any permission and has been alleged to be providing illegal electricity supply with the connivance of the Electricity Department's JE.
It is noteworthy that illegal activities were detected at the same location last year, which were removed by the administration, yet this illegal occupation has resurfaced. This is a clear misuse of government land and a violation of town planning regulations.
According to the law, those illegally occupying government land are subject to demolition action, penalties, compensation/rent dues, and criminal action.
The complainant has made the following demands:
1. An immediate investigation should be conducted and the illegal Tibetan market should be removed.
2. Action should be taken against the individuals involved in this illegal activity and the concerned officials of the Electricity Department, especially the JE.
3. The concerned government land should be protected from any future illegal encroachment.
4. The complainant also mentioned that officials of the Municipal Council, Zirakpur, are also involved in this illegal activity, and their role requires an independent investigation.
This complaint has been formally forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner, SAS Nagar (Mohali), seeking action to prevent misuse of government property and illegal activities.
