Jammu:- Heavy rain and cloudburst have disrupted normal life in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. This natural disaster has caused extensive damage to crops, orchards and private property. The local administration has started relief and rescue operations in the affected areas.
Two cloudburst incidents occurred in Khaljugasar area of ??Bhalesa in Doda district. As a result, flash floods severely affected agricultural land. Farmers' standing crops and fruit orchards were completely destroyed. Several houses and other private properties were also damaged.
The heavy rain closed several major roads, cutting off Bhatias area of ??Bhalesa for hours. Heavy rain also occurred in Kashtigarh area of ??Doda district, leading to flash floods. However, there are no reports of casualties in Kashtigarh. Officials are closely monitoring the situation and are awaiting further information.
Debris blocks roads, cuts off villages
According to reports, the flash floods swept away a large amount of debris, stones and trees on the roads. This has completely cut off connectivity with several villages in the Bhalesha belt, raising concerns of disruption in the supply of essential goods to these villages. Officials have clarified that the road repair work will start only after the weather conditions improve and security is ensured in the area. Roads have been completely washed away due to landslides at several places, the repair of which may take time.
