Sangrur, August 3:- Under the Chief Minister Mother-Daughter Satkar Yojana launched by the Punjab Government with the aim of strengthening the social, economic and social security of women, the work of depositing money through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries is continuing continuously.
Giving information in this regard, District Program Officer, Social Security, Women and Child Development Department, Sangrur Pradeep Singh Gill said that under the first phase of the scheme, an amount of Rs. 65 crore 17 lakh 32 thousand was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 02,17,244 general category beneficiaries of Sangrur district on July 1, 2026 and an amount of Rs. 36 crore 34 lakh 51 thousand 500 was directly transferred to the bank accounts of 80,767 Scheduled Caste (SC) category beneficiaries.
Under the second phase, on August 1, 2026, an amount of Rs. 16 crore 69 lakh 2 thousand was transferred to the bank accounts of 55,634 general category beneficiaries of Sangrur district and an amount of Rs. 10 crore 36 lakh 98 thousand was transferred to the bank accounts of 23,044 Scheduled Caste (SC) category beneficiaries. Thus, a total of 78,678 women have received the benefit of the scheme in the second phase.
Pradeep Singh Gill said that till now, by combining the first and second phases, an amount of Rs. 128 crore 57 lakh 83 thousand 500 has been successfully deposited in the bank accounts of a total of 03,76,689 eligible women of Sangrur district through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Mr. Gill said that the benefit of the Chief Minister Mother-Daughter Satkar Yojana is given only to those women who fulfill the eligibility conditions prescribed by the government. He said that the age of the beneficiary must be 18 years or above. Apart from this, the beneficiary should not be an employee serving in any government department, board, corporation or other government institution or a retired government pensioner. The beneficiary should not have paid income tax during the last financial year. Apart from this, the beneficiary herself or her husband should not be holding the post of Member of Parliament (MP), MLA (MLA) or any other constitutional/elected public representative.
Finally, District Program Officer Pradeep Singh Gill said that the Chief Minister Mother-Daughter Satkar Yojana is a historic initiative towards making women economically strong as well as further strengthening their dignity and social security. The Punjab Government is ensuring that the benefits of the scheme reach every eligible woman in a transparent and timely manner.
