Rahon:- The protest and gherao to be held at Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's residence in Sangrur on December 6, 2025, by the Joint Action Committee of 27 employees, laborers and social organizations of Dalit and backward classes of Punjab under the chairmanship of State Coordinator Jasbir Singh Pal, has been postponed due to the Block Samiti and Zilla Parishad elections.
Giving this information, the committee's state media in-charge Baldev Bharti State Awardee said that the powerful gherao of Bhagwant Mann's residence in Sangrur will now take place on January 4, 2026. Baldev Bharti said that as per the decision of the meeting held by the Cabinet Sub-Committee of the Punjab Government with the representatives of the committee on 22nd December 2022 at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh, a 30-point demand letter was prepared by the Principal Secretaries of all the departments under the leadership of Mr. Ramesh Kumar Genta, Additional Chief Secretary.
The 256-page report was submitted to the Chairman of the Cabinet Sub-Committee, Harpal Singh Cheema, on 16th August 2023 at Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh. But the Punjab government, far from implementing this report, is reluctant to make it public. Baldev Bharti said that a large number of volunteers of the National Labour Organization (NLO) will participate in this protest and violent gherao to be held on 4th January.
