Dhuri, 03rd August:- Under the directions of the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab and under the leadership of District Programme Officer Sangrur Pardeep Singh Gill, a special checking of school buses was conducted in Dhuri under the Safe School Vehicle Policy.
During this checking, a total of 08 school buses were jointly inspected by Traffic Incharge Sanjay Kumar, Inderjit Singh from the Education Department and Amandeep Singh from the District Child Protection Office, Sangrur.
During checking, violation of the rules of Safe School Vehicle Policy was found in two buses. Shortage of First Aid (Medical) Kit was found in one bus and non-wearing of prescribed uniform by the driver was found in the other bus. In view of these shortcomings, a total of 2 challans were issued for the concerned buses.
The team instructed the school managements and bus drivers to strictly follow all safety norms issued under the Safe School Vehicle Policy. They were told that First Aid Kit, fire extinguisher, required documents and other safety equipment should be kept available in the buses at all times so that the safety of students can be ensured in all circumstances.
District Programme Officer Pardeep Singh Gill said that no compromise will be made with the safety of children and such checking drives will continue regularly to ensure effective compliance of Safe School Vehicle Policy.
