Zirakpur- At around 8 am today, the e-rickshaw vehicles parked there suddenly caught fire in the Chhatbir Zoo here. In a short time, the fire spread so much that it engulfed all the e-rickshaw vehicles parked there. The employees standing at the spot informed the fire brigade about it.
Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and tried to control the fire. By the time the fire was controlled, around 18 e-rickshaws were burnt to ashes. The cause of the fire is being investigated. Thankfully, the fire did not spread further to the Chhatbir Zoo and the fire brigade employees contained the fire there.
The Chhatbir Zoo administration is investigating the cause of the fire. To prevent pollution, Chhatbir Zoo has allowed electric e-rickshaws to transport tourists. Earlier, tourists could take their own vehicles inside, which caused pollution and harmed the animals.
