Chandigarh, December 22:- A meeting of Chandigarh Punjabi Manch was held at Gurdwara Shahpur in Sector 38, which was attended by the office bearers of the Manch as well as leaders of allied organizations.
Giving information about the decision taken in the meeting, Manch President Sukhjit Singh Sukha said that on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on 21 February 2026, the Manch will hold a protest under the bridge at Sector 17, in which the UT Chandigarh Administration's indifference towards the mother language of this region, Punjabi, will be highlighted.
Manch General Secretary Comrade Devi Dayal Sharma, along with other office bearers Gurpreet Singh Somal, Sharanjit Singh Baidwan Raipur Kalan etc. appealed to all Punjabi well-wishers and especially the people of the villages of Chandigarh to participate in the said protest in large numbers on 21 February. He said that meetings will also be held in the villages to mobilize people to participate in the protest.
Apart from others, the meeting was attended by the patrons of the Rural Sangharsh Committee Baba Gurdial Singh Khuda Alisher, Pavitar Singh, Chandigarh Government Transport Pensioner Leaders Bhupinder Singh and Gurcharan Singh, Gurmukh Singh Madra, Comrade Raj Kumar, Master Mohan Singh Dadumajra, Manjit Kaur Meet, Roop Singh Dadumajra, Jaswinder Singh from Gurdwara Management Committee Sector 7, Sukhwinder Singh Atawa, Gurmukh Singh Seketi etc.
