Santokhgarh/Una, January 24 (Naveen Mahe):- Despite heavy rain on Friday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a strong protest in Santokhgarh Municipal Council, launching a campaign against the government. BJP leaders and workers took to the streets to demand the immediate appointment of a permanent Patwari (revenue officer), a permanent Executive Officer (EO), and a permanent Principal for the town. During the protest, Santokhgarh Ward 01 Councilor Sandeep Pahesh and BJP Urban Unit President Rajesh Prabhakar said that due to the lack of permanent appointments to these important positions for years, the general public is facing immense difficulties.
Delays in revenue-related work, disruption of development projects in the municipal council, and disruption of the education system in schools are causing deep resentment among the people of the area. BJP leaders warned in no uncertain terms that if the government does not make permanent appointments to these posts soon, the agitation will be intensified. They announced that in the next phase, the Patwar Ghar (revenue office) would be locked and the keys handed over to the District Magistrate.
The workers said that this movement is not for any political gain, but to protect the interests of the people of the area. The large number of workers present despite the heavy rain is proof that people are now aware of their rights. During the protest, slogans were raised against the government, and demands for immediate action were made. The BJP unequivocally stated that this struggle will continue until Santokhgarh receives its due rights.
