Karnal, 20 August:- District Police Karnal is continuously taking action to effectively curb incidents of economic crime and fraud. In this sequence, the team of Police Post Sector-4 of Police Station City Karnal arrested an accused in a case of fraud of lakhs of rupees and recovered cash of Rs 23 lakh from his possession.
The police team formed under the leadership of Police Post Sector-4 in-charge Sub Inspector Himmat Singh arrested the accused Manvinder Singh son of Surjeet Singh resident of Bharampura East, Residency Garden, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh from Bareilly on the basis of secret information. The accused was working as National Sales Manager in the concerned company.
The police team produced the accused before the Hon'ble Court and obtained five days police remand. During police remand, intensive and detailed interrogation was done with the accused. On the basis of interrogation, cash of Rs 23 lakh was recovered from the possession of the accused.
In this regard, in the complaint given to the police by the director of Getting Life Science Private Limited, it was alleged that Manvinder Singh, working as National Sales Manager in the company, misused his position and violated the prescribed policies and procedures of the company and committed embezzlement and fraud in the company's funds.
According to the complaint, the accused in collusion with other employees committed various irregularities including unauthorized supply of medicines of the company, not depositing the amount received from various parties in the authorized bank account of the company, keeping cheques issued in the name of the company with himself and getting supply of goods beyond the prescribed credit limit.
During investigation of the complaint by Police Post Sector-4, statements of complainant were recorded and documents related to the case were examined. Investigation revealed facts of embezzlement of funds by accused Manvinder Singh and other persons while working in the company. On the basis of investigation, a case was registered in Police Station City Karnal.
Interrogation of the accused and further investigation is going on by the team to find out role of other accused involved in the case, amount of fraud and other important facts.
