Hoshiarpur- Under the directions of Chief Engineer Rakesh Gupta, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) organized a cleanliness awareness program at Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 3, BBMB Township. The program was conducted under the leadership of Executive Engineer (Township) Ravinder Singh. Additional Superintending Engineer Vinay Kumar attended the event as the Chief Guest.
While sharing information about the event, Executive Engineer (Township Division) Ravinder Singh stated that BBMB is undertaking numerous activities under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. During today’s program, cleanliness-related materials were also gifted to the school. He said that such awareness activities by BBMB increase consciousness about cleanliness in society and inspire every citizen to keep their surroundings clean.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest, Additional Superintending Engineer Vinay Kumar, while making the girl students aware of the importance of cleanliness, said that nature has given us a beautiful earth filled with all resources for living, and it is our duty not to pollute it and to live life while maintaining balance with nature. He emphasized that our surroundings are our responsibility. Just as we keep our homes clean, we should also actively play our role in keeping our surroundings clean.
On this occasion, the school Principal Gurdaas praised BBMB’s initiative. School teachers Anju Thakur and Bandana Sharma gave a cleanliness awareness message to the students. Student Kanika also presented her views on cleanliness.
Present on the occasion were SDO (Water Supply) Shivam Garg, SDO (Horticulture) Dheeraj Kumar, SDO (Estate) Gopal Singh, along with Junior Engineers Ravinderpal Singh, Gulshan Kumar, Harpreet Singh, Jatin Sharma, Omrao Singh, and Raju.
