Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, July 15:- Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner-cum-President of District Red Cross, S.A.S. Nagar, Mrs. Komal Mittal, a First Aid Training Camp was organized by St. John Ambulance at the District Administrative Complex from July 06 to July 15, 2026. In this camp, Indian Red Cross trainer Sandeep Singh provided training to conductors, drivers, factory workers, and nanny students on how to save precious lives during accidents.
Trainees were informed that first aid is crucial in saving the lives of the injured and reducing their suffering during accidents. Every citizen must have basic knowledge of first aid. They were provided training on essential first aid procedures, including CPR, artificial respiration, handling unconsciousness, controlling bleeding, supporting broken bones, and managing burns and snake bites.
Trainer Sandeep Singh explained that CPR performed during heart attacks proves to be extremely helpful in saving lives. Students were also educated on maintaining mental health alongside physical health.
Secretary Sh. Harbans Singh encouraged the trainees to plant more trees, conserve water, keep the environment clean, respect parents and the elderly, and stay away from drugs.
Dr. Ankita Kansal, Honorary Secretary-cum-Assistant Commissioner (General), provided information about the principles and history of the Red Cross. She highlighted the welfare work being done by the organization for the poor, patients, the needy, and the disabled in the district, and appealed to the people to join the organization to serve humanity.
