Nawanshahr:- The image of the courtyard of Baba Balak Nath Temple, Deotsiddh, the main Siddha Peeth of North India, is now going to change completely. A big project has been started by the Tourism Department for Baba Balak Nath Trust in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on which crores of rupees are being spent.
In this regard, the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), the representative of the firm that has won the tender, the contractor and Congress leader Subhash Dhatwalia visited the temple premises and reviewed the ongoing work. On this occasion, an outline of the upcoming work was also prepared.
Under the project, the Satsang Hall located near the Bakra Sthan has been dismantled and the process of new construction has been started. Along with this, the building built near the Langar Hall has also been removed and work has been started.
Chaitra Mas Mela is starting from March 13. Efforts are being made to complete as much work as possible before the fair, because during this time lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad arrive to have darshan of Baba Ji.
This will be the first time since the formation of the trust that there will be a shortage of space in the premises due to construction work, due to which the crowd will have to be controlled for the convenience of the devotees. The crowd is especially heavy on Saturdays and Sundays.
It is noteworthy that during the tenure of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh, the road leading to the cave was widened, which has provided great convenience to the devotees. The efforts of Trustee Engineer Rajesh Bantal for this work are being considered very commendable.
Contractor Sanjeev Sood said that efforts are underway to complete the work quickly and this project will be completed within the stipulated time by May 2027.
