Chandigarh:- Students of the B.Sc. Medical Photography Department of PGIMER, Chandigarh, participated in a nature photo walk and photography workshop organised at Forest Hill Golf & Country Club Resort in Nayagaon on the occasion of World Tourism Day and Big Butterfly Month.
The objective of the programme was to promote nature photography, awareness about biodiversity, conservation and responsible tourism. The students photographed butterflies, birds, flora, natural landscapes and other elements of the environment, and learned practical techniques of nature and wildlife photography.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Abhijit Singh. Guiding the students, he shared important information related to photographic observation, composition, documentation of biodiversity and ethical practices in nature photography.
A nature photography exhibition was also organised during the programme, in which participants displayed photographs taken during the event. The activity provided students with field-based practical experience and an opportunity to understand how photography can be used as a medium for documentation, education, scientific communication and creating awareness about conservation.
The participation of the students reflected the department’s emphasis on practical training and visual documentation along with technical photography skills.
The programme was organised in collaboration with Social Substance and Natural Biodiversity, with photography and nature enthusiasts also participating.
