Haroli/Una, September 25 (Rajveer Chopra):- The Himachal Pradesh School Lecturer Association, Una, organized a press conference in Haroli. District President Shashipal Saini and General Secretary Sanjeev Kumar addressed the press and strongly opposed the decision to require teachers in CBSE schools to mark their attendance three times a day. The association office-bearers said that currently, employees in no other department of Himachal Pradesh are required to mark attendance three times a day. In such a situation, the rationale for implementing a three-time attendance system for CBSE teachers in the Education Department should be clearly explained.
The association also expressed opposition to implementing a uniform for teachers in CBSE schools. The office-bearers said that if a uniform is made mandatory for teachers, the government should also provide a uniform allowance to teachers. The association demanded that the government formulate a clear policy in this regard at the earliest and announce a uniform allowance.
The Lecturer Association also raised objections to the increase in registration fees by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education. According to the association, the registration fee for Class 9 was earlier Rs. 50, which has now been increased to Rs. 200. Besides, the association also opposed charging students a registration fee again in Class 11. Describing this as an additional financial burden on students and parents, the association demanded a reconsideration of the fee system.
The association demanded that the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education release the pending honorarium for the previous year at the earliest. This includes pending payments for evaluation of answer sheets and other work. The office-bearers said that teachers are assigned work on time, and therefore their pending payments should also be released within a stipulated timeframe.
The association also demanded that the state government release the pending installments of Dearness Allowance at the earliest and pay the pending arrears of the Pay Commission. The association office-bearers said that these financial matters concerning employees should be resolved at the earliest.
