Una, February 23: An awareness camp was organized today at the RTO office premises in Una as part of the Road Safety Campaign. The camp was chaired by Anita Sharma, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Una, and Senior Civil Judge. Representatives and students from the private bus operators, Auto and Taxi Unions, Una, Truck Operators Unions, Mehatpur and Isapur, Government College, Una, and Defense Academy, Una, were present at the camp.
During the program, Anita Sharma provided important information to the bus operators, drivers, conductors, and students regarding hit-and-run cases, good Samaritans, cashless treatment schemes, and adherence to road safety rules as part of the Road Safety Campaign. She explained that citizens who assist road accident victims are protected by law, allowing them to help the injured without fear.
Along with this, RTO Una laid special emphasis on the importance of strict adherence to traffic rules, safe driving, use of helmets and seat belts and human sensitivity to prevent road accidents. Apart from this, he urged all the people present in the program to follow road safety rules and make others aware of it.
In the program, students of Government College Una, Jiya, Ishita, Daya and Isha Thakur and students of Defence Academy Una, Shashi and Pallavi were also honored for the best PPT presentation.
