Nawanshahr:- The New Auto Workers Union (Iftu) has announced to attend the rally and demonstration being organized by the Indian Federation of Trade Unions (Iftu) and other organizations at Dana Mandi Ludhiana on March 22 to press their demands.
Addressing a meeting held here to prepare for this, Iftu State Press Secretary Jasbir Deep, Auto Union District President Puneet Kaler and Taranjit said that this rally and demonstration is being held with the demands of repealing the four labor codes, restoring the MGNREGA law, withdrawing the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, mid-day meal, regularizing raw workers including ASHA workers, providing permanent employment to every laborer and raising the minimum wage to Rs. 26,000 per month, etc.
He said that the Modi government of the center has brought 4 labor codes by abolishing 29 pro-labor laws to snatch away the democratic rights of workers like forming unions and struggling to please the corporate houses and domestic and foreign capitalists. He said that the central government has announced to implement these four labor codes from April 1 and the central government is going to implement the developed India Ji Ram Ji by abolishing the MGNREGA law to snatch away employment from the workers.
He said that with the implementation of the labor code, the democratic right of the workers to form unions and struggle to secure and achieve their rights will be lost. Instead of increasing the remuneration of work, the working hours will be 8 to 12 hours a day. Labor and employee leaders have called for a large number of people to join this protest to get these anti-labor labor laws repealed to secure their democratic rights. Auto workers assured to reach the Ludhiana rally with a bang.
