Dirba, July 23:- In line with the Punjab Government's ongoing efforts to strengthen government schools and enhance the quality of education, Schools of Eminence are being established across the state, with modern infrastructure being developed for these institutions. As part of this initiative, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has released an additional Rs 09.13 crore for the construction of the three-storey building of Comrade Bhim Singh School of Eminence at Dirba.
Sharing further details, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that the Punjab Government has so far released around Rs 12 crore for the school. The construction work is progressing at a rapid pace. Earlier, more than Rs 02 crore had been released for the project, following which the construction commenced. The department has now released the second instalment of Rs 09.13 crore to further accelerate the work.
He said that upon completion, the new building will provide students with a better and more conducive learning environment, laying a strong foundation for higher education and overall academic excellence.
The Finance Minister further said that, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is giving special priority to the education sector and has substantially increased the education budget. Besides constructing new school buildings and boundary walls, the government is also establishing science laboratories and providing other essential facilities. Smart classrooms are being developed to ensure that government schools can compete with private educational institutions.
He added that, as a result of the Punjab Government's sustained efforts, more than 700 students from government schools qualified the NEET examination this year. Earlier, students had also delivered commendable performances in the JEE examination, reflecting the significant improvement in the quality and standards of government school education.
