Hoshiarpur: Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain stated that the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, honors talented children across the country every year with the 'Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar'. Registration for this year's awards can be done until July 31, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner explained that this award is given to children who have performed acts of bravery, served as role models for others, or have shown excellence in fields such as sports, social service, science and technology, environment, arts and culture, and innovation, deserving national-level recognition.
Children who are Indian citizens, are under 18 years of age as of the last date of application, and meet the required criteria can register on the official website: https://awards.gov.in. The deadline for registration on the website is July 31, 2026.
She further clarified that the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, does not recognize or support the 'Indian Council for Child Welfare' for bravery awards. Therefore, registrations should not be made for any national child award issued by the 'Indian Council for Child Welfare'.
Candidates should only register through the official website: https://awards.gov.in. She emphasized that since this is the premier national award, eligible children in the district should be registered so they can receive well-deserved national recognition.
