Patiala 27th January:- Forest workers of Patiala district affiliated to Forest Workers Union Punjab led by Jaswinder Saujan, Jagtar Sahpur, Sher Singh Sirhind, Joga Singh Wajidpur and Bhupinder Singh Sadhoheri gathered in front of the Forest Division office Patiala in the bitter cold at 8 am today and started a march towards the place where the Republic Day was being celebrated by the Punjab government. Due to which the administration and the police also had to face difficulties.
The marching workers also clashed with the police at many places. Finally, the police stopped the forest workers by placing vehicles on the road, due to which the angry workers blocked the road. Finally, the forest workers were calmed down after the administration held a meeting with the Honorable Harpal Singh Cheema, Finance Minister of Punjab, on February 5 and the Forest Divisional Officer, Patiala on January 30 and assured them of releasing the remaining salaries and arrears.
Today, the forest workers were fully supported by the Democratic Kisan Sabha, Federation-affiliated organizations PWD Field and Workshop Workers Union and Pasu Palan Union. In today's protest march, Darsan Belu Majra, Jasvir Khokhar, Bhinder Ghagga, Gurmel Bisanpura, Naresh Bosar, Amarjit Singh, Lachhru Kala, Harcharan Kheri Gila Jaspal Kaur, Najma Begum Karamjit Kaur Sirhind Amarjit Kaur Gurpreet Kaur Bhadso Paramjit Kaur Kuldeep Kaur Mangewal Kirna Nabha participated.
