Haryana/Panchkula: O.P. Sihag, the Panchkula District President of the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), stated that the Mata Mansa Devi Temple in Panchkula holds immense significance across North India, including the entire state of Haryana. He noted that large-scale fairs are held here twice a year, drawing hundreds of thousands of devotees to worship and offer prayers at this ancient shrine.
Additionally, hundreds of people and devotees visit the temple daily. Sihag mentioned that devotees offer significant quantities of gold and silver jewelry, as well as offerings worth crores of rupees.
JJP District President O.P. Sihag pointed out that non-official members recently appointed by the state government—most of whom are senior BJP leaders—have leveled serious allegations before the Haryana Chief Minister against senior officials of the Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board. These allegations include acting arbitrarily, disregarding the appointed members, and raising questions about the temple's operational procedures.
This indicates that all is not well regarding the temple's management. Sihag urged the Haryana government to immediately conduct a comprehensive audit covering the last 10 years of all offerings, expenditures, and other valuable items donated to the temple, to ensure that no major irregularities occur here—similar to the issues seen at the Ram Mandir.
He remarked that reports of large-scale theft of donations and offerings from temples across the country have caused widespread alarm and deeply hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. He added that when people exploit faith in the name of religion, the common public loses faith in religion itself; therefore, there must be complete transparency regarding donations, offerings, and expenditures in temples to maintain trust in the faith.
