Amritsar:- Counter Intelligence Amritsar has busted a drug trafficking network, arrested four accused and recovered 10 kg of heroin. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav shared the information in a post on X.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said the preliminary police investigation revealed that the accused were in contact with foreign-based smugglers and received consignments of heroin in Punjab for further distribution. An FIR has been registered in this connection at the State Special Operations Cell police station in Amritsar.
He said further investigation is underway to trace the accused persons’ forward and backward links, identify other individuals involved in the network and dismantle the wider cross-border drug trafficking network.
