New Delhi:- Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi made her Instagram debut on Thursday with a post about her upcoming book, describing it as “a story of love, duty, loss and finding one’s place.”

This marks Gandhi’s first step onto social media, as she had largely kept her distance from these platforms over the years. The Congress party’s X account, formerly Twitter, had been the only platform through which she shared video statements, other messages and letters.

Sonia Gandhi immediately followed her son Rahul, daughter Priyanka and the party’s Instagram accounts. All top Congress leaders who are on Instagram, including Rahul Gandhi, also began following the former Congress president’s account.

Several Congress leaders took to social media to praise Gandhi and express their excitement about her book. In her first Instagram post, Sonia Gandhi shared a video clip of herself receiving copies of her upcoming book, *Belonging: A Journey of Love*. In the video, Gandhi is seen receiving the first copies of the book and sharing sweets with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on the occasion. Sonia Gandhi said the book contains many photographs.
