Sangrur, August 28:- Following the orders of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer, Sangrur Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur, a special meeting was held with representatives of all recognized political parties of the district under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (J)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Mr. Ankur Mahindru, PCS. During this meeting, the lists of ASDD (Absent, Transferred, Dead and Double Votes) found in the district under Special Intensive Revision-2026 were handed over to the political parties.
The Additional District Election Officer informed that as per the schedule of the Election Commission of India, the second phase of the notice phase has started from 13 August 2026. Youth who have completed 18 years of age can fill Form No. 6 to cast a new vote, Form No. 7 to get their vote deducted and Form No. 8 for correction of details or change of residence. Claims and objections will be received till 12 September 2026, which will be disposed of till 8 October 2026 and the final photo voter list will be published on 12 October 2026.
He appealed to the political parties to cooperate with the administration in the process of revision of the voter list and those parties which have not appointed booth level agents, should appoint BLA-2 through BLA-1 and submit the form to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer office. The meeting was attended by Mr. Rocky Bansal and Mr. Surinder Singh Bhinder (BLA-1) from Indian National Congress, Mr. Surinder Sharma from BJP, CPI Mr. Chamkaur Singh Kheri from (M), Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi from Aam Aadmi Party and Election Tehsildar Mrs. Paramjit Kaur were also present.
