Una, February 2: In view of the security and management arrangements for the Holi Mairi Fair, which will be held in Mairi, Amb sub-division, from February 24 to March 5, Additional Deputy Commissioner Una, Mahendra Pal Gurjar, held a review meeting today (Monday) at the committee hall in the BDO office, Amb. The meeting was attended by SDM Amb Paras Agarwal, DSP Amb Anil Patial, Health Medical Superintendent Dr. Sukhdeep Singh Sidhu, BDO Ompal Dogra, along with Gurudwara management, local panchayat representatives, and officers from various departments.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner issued necessary directions to the concerned departments to ensure the successful, safe, and smooth conduct of the fair. He informed that the responsibilities of all agencies regarding police, traffic, sanitation, electricity, drinking water, and health services have been fixed during the fair period. A medical post will also be established in the fair area for the convenience of the devotees.
He informed that during the fair period, the ADC Una will be the Fair Officer and the SDM Amb will be the Assistant Fair Officer, while the ASP Una will be the Police Fair Officer and the DSP Amb will be the Assistant Police Fair Officer. During the fair, 850 police personnel, 125 women police personnel, and 750 Home Guard personnel will be deployed for security arrangements. He informed that the Nishan Sahib (flag hoisting) ceremony will be held on March 3, and the distribution of Panja Prasad will take place at midnight on March 5.

**Complete ban on goods vehicles
The Additional Deputy Commissioner clarified that the entry of devotees in trucks, tractor-trolleys, tempos, and other goods vehicles will be completely prohibited during the fair period. Passengers coming in such vehicles will be stopped at the border area, and legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules. Devotees will be able to enter the fair area only through HRTC buses.

**Fair area divided into 10 sectors
He informed that the fair area has been divided into 10 sectors for the smooth operation of the arrangements. Traffic, parking, sanitation, and other arrangements will be monitored sector-wise.
The Health and Family Welfare Department and the AYUSH Department will set up medical camps at various locations. One ambulance each will be stationed at Nehri, Mairi, and Charan Ganga for the convenience of patients in case of emergencies.
In addition, three extra sectors have been created at Una-Mehatpur, Haroli-Pandoga, and Marwari-Mubarikpur, and the respective Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) will be the sector magistrates. To resolve network issues, representatives from Jio and Airtel have been instructed to ensure the provision of transmitters and receivers in the fair area.

**Special Permits for Taxis**
The Additional Deputy Commissioner stated that special permits will be issued from the SDM office in Amb to the first 100 taxis for transporting passengers from Nehri to Mairi. Additional buses will also be arranged as per the convenience of the passengers. He also informed that setting up community kitchens (langars) along the roadside will not be permitted. Permission from the SDM office will be mandatory for setting up a langar, and a security deposit of ten thousand rupees will have to be submitted, of which five thousand will be refundable and five thousand non-refundable.

**Special Monitoring of Food Items and Sanitation**
The District Food and Supply Controller, Una, will keep a close watch on food items, plastic, petrol and diesel in open bottles, balloon-inflating cylinders, and other flammable materials during the fair period.
The PWD will ensure road repairs, and the Water Resources Department will ensure water supply and sanitation arrangements. Sulabh International has been entrusted with the responsibility of sanitation in the fair area. It will be mandatory to place dustbins outside every shop.

**Emergency Evacuation Plan to be Prepared**
The Additional Deputy Commissioner instructed the managers of Dera Baba Badbhag Singh, Shri Charan Ganga, and Shri Manji Sahib Gurudwara, along with other religious sites, to prepare an emergency evacuation plan. Also, loudspeakers will only be allowed to be used at low volume from 6 AM to 10 PM in the fair area.
He appealed to the managers of religious sites, representatives, and elected representatives of the border villages to cooperate in the successful organization of the fair.
