Hisar:- Under the special campaign being carried out in the district to curb crime as per the directions of the Superintendent of Police Hisar, Special Staff and Agroha Police Station Hisar achieved a major success. Under the leadership of Special Staff Incharge Inspector Pawan, the police team successfully solved the case of theft of a bus passenger’s bag containing silver (39.844 kilograms) and arrested the accused.

Case Details:
It is noteworthy that Ravindra, son of Kuldeep Soni, resident of Agroha, filed a complaint at Police Station Agroha stating that he owns a shop of silver items in Fatehabad under the name “Dev Payal.” On the night of 18.03.2026 at around 11:00 pm, Rajesh Sharma, resident of Mathura, was bringing 39.844 kilograms of silver items from Mishka Enterprises and Shree Nath Jewellers, located in Mathura, to Fatehabad via Vijay Travels bus.
On the morning of 19.03.2026 at around 6:00 am, Rajesh Sharma informed via phone near Agroha that the silver bag kept in the bus had been stolen on the way. After this, a call was immediately made to 112 and the police were informed. Upon reaching the spot and conducting an inspection, the complainant found that the silver bag had been stolen, with an estimated value of approximately 65 lakh rupees.

Police Action:
Considering the seriousness of the case, Agroha Police Station immediately registered a case and started an investigation and informed senior officials. As per the instructions of senior officials, a special team was constituted.
During the investigation, passenger Rajesh Sharma informed the police team that he suspected the bus driver. Based on this, the police team tracked the accused through the driver’s mobile number and, upon getting an opportunity, apprehended the accused driver at Hisar bus stand while he was waiting for transport to Hansi.

Details of the Accused:
The accused has been identified as Satpal, son of Hardat, resident of Arniyawali, district Sirsa.
According to information received, the accused had been working as a driver in a private bus for the last 2-3 months, operating on the Ganganagar to Kanpur route.

Revelation during Interrogation:
During police interrogation, the accused stated that Rajesh Sharma, a regular passenger on the bus, used to always carry silver with him. Keeping an eye on this, the accused planned the crime.
On 19.03.2026, when the bus stopped at a petrol pump and Rajesh Sharma went to the bathroom, the accused stole the bag filled with silver and hid it in bushes across the road. After that, the accused drove the bus to Sirsa and, after changing the driver, planned to return to the same spot to pick up the bag.

Recovery and Further Action:
The police have recovered the stolen 39.844 kilograms of silver from the possession of the accused. The accused will be produced in court tomorrow and further legal action will be taken.
