Karnal, July 22: Taking effective action to curb incidents of cable theft from submersible motors at farm tubewells, the Karnal District Police—specifically the Nissing Police Station—have successfully arrested an accused individual. The police also recovered 11.700 kg of stolen cable wire from the accused's possession.
The arrested accused has been identified as Rahul, son of Bhajan Lal, a resident of Baras village, Karnal district. Providing details of the case, the investigating officer stated that a case was registered at the Nissing Police Station on July 21, 2026, following a complaint lodged by Sandeep Kumar (son of Gulab Chand) of Baras village and other farmers.
In their complaint, the farmers stated that on the night of July 14, 2026, unidentified thieves had stolen cables belonging to submersible motors installed at their tubewells. Despite an extensive search, no trace of the stolen cables was found, prompting them to file a police complaint.
During the investigation, a police team from Nissing Police Station, led by Head Constable Rajesh, arrested the accused, Rahul. Following interrogation and based on information provided by him, 11.700 kg of stolen cable wire was recovered from his possession.
The arrested accused was produced before the honorable court in accordance with the law and has been remanded to judicial custody.
