Ambala, August 3: The CIA-2 team has solved a case involving the theft of gold and silver jewelry and cash from a house in Akbarpur village (under the jurisdiction of Saha Police Station) and arrested the accused. Police have recovered stolen jewelry worth lakhs of rupees and the motorcycle used in the crime from the accused's possession.
The accused already has prior cases of theft registered against him in Punjab. He has been identified as Captain Singh, alias Punjabi—originally a resident of village Gilbob (Police Station Sri Hargobindpur, District Batala, Punjab) and currently residing in village Sambhalkha (Police Station Saha).
Investigating Officer Head Constable Manpreet Singh stated that on July 18, 2026, the complainant, Santram, lodged a complaint at Saha Police Station reporting that unidentified thieves had stolen gold and silver jewelry and cash from his home. Acting on the complaint, the police immediately registered a case, initiated proceedings, arrested the accused, and obtained police remand through the court.
During the remand period, three gold rings, one gold necklace, gold earrings, a pair of silver anklets, four silver toe rings, and the motorcycle used in the crime were recovered from him. The accused was produced before the honorable court again today and has been sent to judicial custody.
