Karnal, July 3:- As part of the special campaign launched by the Karnal District Police against illegal liquor smugglers, the Ramnagar Police successfully arrested an accused following a tip-off. Twenty-four bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the accused's possession.
A police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Gurpal Singh arrested the accused, Deepak (son of Dinesh, a resident of Shiv Colony, Karnal), in accordance with the law. During the search, two cartons (24 bottles) of illicit Royal Stag brand liquor were recovered from him.
The Investigating Officer stated that a case has been registered against the accused at the Ramnagar Police Station, Karnal, under the relevant sections of the Excise Act. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was illegally storing and supplying liquor without a valid license or permit.
The police have seized the illicit liquor recovered from the accused in accordance with the rules.
