Karnal, July 4: As part of a special campaign launched by the Karnal District Police to curb the smuggling and sale of illicit liquor, the Kunjpura Police Station team took effective action and arrested an accused. A total of 33 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the accused's possession.
A police spokesperson stated that a police team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Narendra Singh acted on a tip-off and arrested Parvinder, son of Harvinder—a resident of Naval village, Karnal district—in accordance with the law. During the search, a total of 33 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from the accused, comprising 24 bottles of 'Masti Malta' brand, and 6 full bottles plus 6 half-bottles of 'Jamun' brand liquor.
The investigating officer stated that a case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the Excise Act at Kunjpura Police Station, Karnal. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused was illegally storing and selling liquor at his shop located at the Naval village intersection without any valid license or permit.
The police have seized the recovered illicit liquor in accordance with procedure. Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the illicit liquor and identify the individuals to whom the accused was supplying it. The Karnal District Police has made it clear that strict legal action will continue against anyone involved in the sale or smuggling of illicit liquor.
