Karnal, June 16: A team from the District Town Planner's office, supported by the police force, carried out a demolition drive against four illegal colonies in Gharaunda. The operation was conducted in the presence of a duty magistrate and police personnel. District Town Planner Gunjan stated that the first illegal colony was located within the revenue estate of Garhi Multan on Kamla Road, covering an area of approximately 13 acres.
At this site, four DPC structures, the boundary wall of a plot, the colony's boundary wall, and unpaved roads were demolished. The second illegal colony was being developed over an area of approximately 10.5 acres on Dingar Majra Road; all unpaved roads constructed there were demolished.
The third illegal colony was also situated on Dingar Majra Road, spanning about 11 acres, and all unpaved roads within it were demolished. Similarly, the fourth illegal colony was being developed on Dingar Majra Road across an area of approximately 6.5 acres, where the department destroyed all the unpaved roads.
She mentioned that demolition drives against illegal colonies and unauthorized constructions are being actively carried out across the district. Action is also being taken to register FIRs in such cases. She appealed to the general public to verify licensing details before purchasing a plot in any colony and to invest only in valid, licensed colonies to avoid facing any difficulties in the future.
