Derabassi (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), September 11, 2026:- Under the special documentary campaign being organised by the Punjab Government to commemorate the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, people in the villages of Derabassi block are being acquainted with the life, ideology, teachings and great message given to humanity by Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj.
As part of this initiative, a special documentary film of approximately 30 minutes was screened through an LED screen in the villages of Sarsini, Tiwana and Khajur Mandi.
Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Komal Mittal, while providing information, said that this special initiative by the Punjab Government dedicated to the 650th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj is a commendable effort to convey the great philosophy of Guru Sahib and the message of universal brotherhood to the people. She said that the documentary being screened in villages through LED screens is helping connect people with the life of Guru Sahib and his messages of social equality, humanity, universal brotherhood and communal harmony.
She said that Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, through his hymns and life, showed humanity the path of equality, love, humility and mutual brotherhood. His message is not confined to any particular class or society, but is a source of inspiration for all humanity. The Deputy Commissioner said that the teachings of Guru Sahib remain equally relevant in the present times and inspire people to further strengthen mutual respect, social harmony and the spirit of equality in society.
