Hoshiarpur:- A delegation led by the State Senior Vice President and District Hoshiarpur President Baldev Singh Dhugga, under the directions of the State Convener Jasvir Singh Pal and Vice Chairman Chaudhary Balraj Kumar, organized a protest in front of the Mini Secretariat regarding the demands of the SCBC community and sent a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann through Commissioner Hoshiarpur Ashika Jain. Giving information in this regard, the State Senior Vice President Punjab and District President of the Federation Baldev Singh Dhugga said that the Federation has been struggling for the demands of the SC and BC community for a long time.
He said that the government has been ignoring the demands for a long time, such as implementation of the 85th Amendment, cancellation of the unconstitutional letter of 10 October 2014 and implementation of the report of former Chief Principal Secretary to the SC Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar Ganta, filling the reservation backlog in new recruitment and promotions, restoration of old pension, issuance of scholarships to students under the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme, giving unemployment allowance, building houses and giving ownership rights to the poor and homeless people of the Scheduled Castes on the land of the villages.
He warned that if the government does not invite for talks on these demands now, then in protest of not accepting the constitutional demands, the residence of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann in Sangrur will be surrounded on 6 December 2025, on the occasion of the Nirvana Day of Babasaheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji.
On this occasion, Lecturer Jarnail Singh Sikri Tehsil President Hoshiarpur, Lakhbir Singh Tehsil President Mukerian, Lecturer Baljit Singh Tehsil President Dasuha, Kulwant Singh Tehsil President Tanda, Jasvir Singh President Bhunga-1, CHT Jaspal Singh President Block Bhunga-2, Gurjit Singh Block President Hoshiarpur-2A, Lecturer Prabhjot Singh Block President Hoshiarpur 2B, Lecturer Jaswinder Singh Sahota etc. along with office bearers and members from across the district were present.
