Ratia, November 12: Sub-Divisional Magistrate Surendra Singh, along with a team of administrative officials, conducted a flag march in various villages of the subdivision to curb incidents of paddy stubble burning. The flag march began in Ratia and passed through Sahnal, Raipur, Dhani Raipur, Sukhmanpur, Hansga, Palsar, Aharwan, and Hamzapur villages.
During this march, stubble burning was extinguished and farmers were made aware that those burning stubble would face heavy fines. SDM Surendra Singh urged farmers to avoid stubble burning and to adopt stubble management through super seeders and other machinery.
He stated that farmers who abstain from stubble burning are being given a subsidy of ?1,200 per acre. The Panchayats of villages where no cases of stubble burning are reported will be honored. SDM said that burning of stubble has very serious and adverse effects on nature, land and human life.
Besides destroying the fertility of the land, humans also become victims of many fatal diseases due to natural pollution. We have to adopt pollution control measures with utmost seriousness. He said that air pollution is a matter of concern for all of us, which has a deep impact on our health.
On this occasion Block Development and Panchayat Officer Hanish Kumar, Vikas Kumar Langyan, ASCO Suresh Kumar, BAO Sandeep Bidlan, Fire Incharge Krishna Kumar, Sub Inspector Kawar Singh, Vijay Kumar, Surjeet Kumar etc were present.
