Derabassi (SAS Nagar), March 1:- Under the 'Our Elders are Our Pride' campaign being run under the guidelines of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann and Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur, a special awareness program was organized in village Bhankharpur, Derabassi under the leadership of District Social Security Officer Mohali Navdeep Kaur.
Speaking on the occasion, Navdeep Kaur said that the government is committed to making the elderly digitally self-reliant and aware of their rights. A large number of elders, Anganwadi workers, police officers and banking officials of the area participated in this program.
During this, an advocate belonging to the District Legal Services Authority specially reached the elderly and gave detailed information about free legal aid and their legal rights. Along with this, awareness was created about modern banking services by banking officials and ways to avoid cyber fraud by police officials. This entire program was very effective, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
