Amb/Una, February 21st: In view of the historic Holi Fair to be held from February 24th to March 5th in Maidi, in the Shri Chintpurni Assembly constituency, a review meeting was held on Saturday at Ajit Darbar Maidi regarding security and arrangements. Shri Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu was specially present during the meeting and provided necessary guidelines.
In the meeting, SDM Amb, Paras Agarwal, discussed in detail with the Gurdwara Management Committee, local Panchayat representatives, and officials from various departments, reviewing the preparations for the successful and well-organized fair.

**Tight security arrangements
Paras Agarwal stated that for the successful conduct of the fair, responsibilities have been assigned to all agencies, including police and traffic management, sanitation, electricity, and drinking water management. He also stated that a medical post will be available in the fair area for the convenience of devotees. During the fair, the ADC Una will be the Fair Officer and the SDM Amb will be the Assistant Fair Officer, while the ASP Una will be the Police Fair Officer and the DSP Amb will be the Assistant Police Fair Officer. During the fair, 850 police personnel, 125 women police personnel, and 750 Home Guard personnel will be responsible for security in the fair area. He further stated that the Nishan Sahib (flag hoisting) ceremony will be held on March 3rd, and the distribution of Panja Prasad will take place at midnight on March 5th.

**Complete ban on cargo vehicles
The SDM stated that the entry of devotees by trucks, tractor-trolleys, tempos, and other cargo vehicles will be strictly prohibited during the fair period. Passengers traveling in such vehicles will be stopped at the border area, and legal action will be taken against those violating the rules. Devotees will only be allowed to enter the fair area via HRTC buses.

**Fair area divided into 10 sectors
He stated that the fair area has been divided into 10 sectors to ensure smooth functioning of the arrangements. Traffic, parking, cleanliness, and other arrangements will be monitored sector-wise.
The Health and Family Welfare Department and the AYUSH Department will set up medical camps at various locations. An ambulance each will be stationed in Nahri, Maidi, and Charan Ganga to assist patients in case of emergencies.

In addition, three additional sectors have been created: Una-Mehtpur, Haroli-Pandoga, and Marwari-Mubaripur, with the respective SDMs as Sector Magistrates. To address network issues, representatives from Jio and Airtel were instructed to ensure the availability of transmitters and receivers in the fair area.

**Special Permits Will Be Issued to Taxis
He informed that the first 100 taxis will be issued special permits from the SDM office in Amb to transport passengers from Nahri to Maidi. Additional buses will also be arranged for passenger convenience. He further stated that roadside langars will not be permitted. Permission from the SDM office will be mandatory for setting up langars, and a security deposit of ten thousand rupees will be required, of which five thousand rupees will be refundable and five thousand rupees will be non-refundable.

**Special monitoring of food items and hygiene

The District Food and Supplies Controller, Una, will closely monitor the use of food items, plastic, open bottles of petrol and diesel, balloon inflating cylinders, and other flammable materials during the fair period.

The Public Works Department will ensure road repairs, while the Jal Shakti Department will ensure drinking water supply and sanitation. Sulabh International has been entrusted with the responsibility of cleanliness in the fair area. Dustbins will be placed outside every shop. Furthermore, low-volume loudspeakers will only be permitted in the fair area between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. He appealed to the managers of religious sites, representatives, and public representatives of border panchayats for their cooperation in the successful organization of the fair.

Shri Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Singh Bablu said that Himachal Pradesh is a sacred place of worship for gods, goddesses, and gurus, where faith and traditions hold special significance. He appealed to all the devotees coming to Maidi Holi Mela to participate in the fair with love, harmony and devotion.
The MLA urged the devotees to reach the fair as per the arrangements made by the administration and cooperate with the administration in the smooth and safe conduct of the fair. Describing the safety of the devotees as a priority, he also appealed to avoid travelling in unsafe vehicles like tempos, tractor-trolleys, so that any kind of untoward incident can be avoided.
