Hoshiarpur: A ceremony was held in Hoshiarpur to felicitate Ashok Puri, the director of the film 'Gold Medal Da Dahej', for receiving the ‘Award for Excellence in Social Awareness’ at the West Bengal International Film Festival. Former MP Shri Avinash Rai Khanna, President of the Hoshiarpur Vyapar Mandal (Traders' Association) Gopi Chand Kapoor, and Diwan Surendrapal, a representative of Hoshiarpur Sargam, were present as special guests.
The story of the film 'Gold Medal Da Dahej' was written by Avinash Rai Khanna, and directed by Ashok Puri under the banner of Shri Gresa Films. It was initially released in Punjabi and later dubbed into Hindi. The next phase of the film is being prepared in Gujarati and Bengali languages. On this occasion, Ashok Puri announced that the next part of this film, which has brought honor to Hoshiarpur by receiving the ‘Award for Excellence in Social Awareness’, will be released soon.
Following this, Avinash Rai Khanna congratulated the director and his team for their efforts in making the film. He also announced that another short film, 'No Challan', based on his experiences in social reform, is being produced under the direction of Ashok Puri.
Gopi Chand Kapoor, President of the Vyapar Mandal, congratulated Avinash Rai Khanna and Shri Gresa Films for their efforts. Film artists Pawan Singh, Vicky Walia, Ajay Sahdev, and other intellectuals were also present on the occasion.
