Ahmedabad:- Gujarat ATS has arrested eight terrorists associated with the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. They were caught from different districts; two of them are aged 18 and 19. They were working to set up an active Jaish-e-Mohammed network in Gujarat to carry out terror activities.
ATS has started questioning them. Jaish-e-Mohammed is a Pakistan-based terror outfit founded by terrorist Masood Azhar in 2000. It is accused of carrying out terror attacks in several countries including India. Jaish is headquartered in Bahawalpur in Pakistan's Punjab province.
The organisation runs training camps and terror networks in various areas of Pakistan. Its chief, terrorist Masood Azhar, was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir in 1994. However, the Indian government released him in exchange for hostages after the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC-814 in December 1999.
