Hoshiarpur- Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Jyoti Bala Mattu informed that the Local Government Department has launched a 'One Time Settlement Scheme' to facilitate the people in paying property tax; in which 100 percent discount was given on interest and penalty on depositing their entire property tax till July 31 and later it was extended till August 31; and now one-time property tax can be deposited with 50 percent discount on interest and penalty till October 31.
The counters of the Municipal Corporation will be open from 10 am to 3 pm on this Saturday and Sunday, October 25 and 26, for depositing property tax. Therefore, the city residents should take maximum advantage of this scheme and ensure that they deposit their due property tax.
Along with this, he gave further information that notices are being issued to the big property tax defaulters who are not depositing their property tax and the properties of the defaulters who do not deposit property tax within the notice period are being sealed.
Therefore, all property tax defaulters should deposit their property tax as soon as possible, so that legal action can be avoided.
